Starcraft 2: Protoss Cybernetics Core
Modeled by Phill Gonzales, final texture pass by Ted Park!

The Cybernetics Core had an uneventful creation and implementation in Starcraft 2. After one slight cosmetic improvement we never bothered the Cybernetics Core again.

Why mess with perfection, right? :D (Big Grin)

Seriously, I really love the look of this building--not only do the antique gold/brass tones look really nice and realistic, but the design is very practical as well. It looks like I could use the picture above to have some set builders create a life-size version on location for a movie shoot somewhere, and not have to worry about it falling down the minute someone leans on it. (I bet if there were ever a StarCraft movie like the WarCraft movie coming out, and this were actually built as a practical set, it would look fantastic!)

I also like the three scallop pieces in the back--they remind me of the Sidney Opera house in Australia. Very nice touch--it looks like something an alien civilization would build, without making the viewer go, "what the %^&$$# is that?!?"

It looks less golden than the other ones.

Poor Core, no one cares about you.

Is it possible that it looks like this because it unlocks the Stalker, too, which is a DT unit?
