Description

Starcraft 2: Terran Ghost Academy
Modeled & Textured by Phill Gonzales

The Ghost Academy was made to clearly showcase the availability of Ghost Technology in a Terran base, rather than scouting add-ons on Science Facilities in Starcraft 1. The Ghost Academy was built very early on and went through several art passes before the final look was achieved. There were many little details in the early versions such as windows and little shuttles moving around the outer ring. Unfortunately, those details become too busy from the camera view in Starcraft 2, and we intentionally keep scale vague in the game. We sadly cannon make the multiplayer artwork to scale, so we comprimise by making the artwork more iconic, rather than realistic.

At one point the Ghost Academy could lift off like the other Terran structures. This was pure evil since a Terran player could lift off the building and hide the nuke-producing building in a safe corner of the map.

I don't know about the Starcraft universe, but in the real world, it is a very terrible idea to have nuclear warheads inside an academy. Of course, one should consider that in the Starcraft universe, nukes do not do as much damage as a single 105mm round does.
